Research Assistants – Mindfulness in Adolescence (4 posts)

We wish to appoint four Research Assistants to work on a large cluster-randomised controlled trial, led by Professor Willem Kuyken, aiming to establish whether mindfulness training in schools is effective and cost effective. The posts are based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
These posts are for a fixed-term (funded to 31 December 2018).
You will be focussed on the collection of research assessments from teachers and pupils at secondary schools in the whole of the UK. This will involve regularly travelling to these schools during school terms to work with classes of pupils as well as liaising with school staff members to create and maintain good working relationships. You will contribute to all aspects of the research process, from inception, to preparing proposals, through planning, delivery through to dissemination. Additionally you will carry out collaborative projects with colleagues in partner institutions and research groups.
You will have a degree (2:1) or above in psychology, teaching or a related subject along with experience of working with young people and delivering research projects effectively. With excellent communication and IT skills you will be resourceful and resilient in working with challenges and solving problems. Experience of conducting research in schools would be desirable. You must be able to start in post as soon as possible and by 1 September 2017 at the latest.
