Who am I?
I am a psychiatrist and cognitive behavioural therapist who has been working with patients with depressive and anxiety disorders since 25 years. I am a professor of psychiatry at the Radboud University Medical Centre since 2006 and founded the Radboudumc Centre for Mindfulness in 2008.
What do I do?
The Radboudumc Centre for Mindfulness offers mindfulness courses for both clinical populations with psychological or somatic conditions and for health care professionals. We conduct research about the effectiveness and working mechanism of mindfulness interventions and also offer a teacher training programme for professionals working in health care, education, criminal justice and businesses.
Why I love working at the OMC
I think the international connection between people working in the practice and science of mindfulness based approaches is really important. The Oxford Mindfulness Centre plays a central role in getting colleagues around the world together and I am very honoured and pleased to be able to contribute to that.
