I am an academic with a particular interest in mindfulness for students. I’ve co-founded the Mindfulness for Students Network which is made up of mindfulness teachers and academics who are interested in supporting the practice of mindfulness in higher education. I am also a trustee of Gaia House Insight Meditation Centre in Devon.
I have a particular interest in promoting diversity and accessibility in mindfulness and I chair the Oxford Mindfulness Centre Accessibility Group. Most recently the Group has facilitated the financial support of seven projects which aim to increase the accessibility of mindfulness to a range of different groups in diverse settings.
The trustees and staff at the OMC are committed to ‘walk the walk’ in running the Centre which makes for a very special community. This means that the inevitable pressures and strains of a busy organisations are consciously approached in a way which is mutually supportive and compassionate. It feels like a privilege to contribute to this wonderful work!
