I work in an NHS Mental Health Trust in South East London. My role with OMC is as an Associate Teacher.
Day to day I work on an acute inpatient ward and in a community mental health team. It is in these contexts I provide MBCT and other psychological therapies to secondary care service users, carers and staff. As an Associate this role has offered valuable links between our clinical service and OMC. This could involve workshops, teaching or research.
Working in the NHS I regularly see the beneficial outcomes MBCT offers people’s lives. This provision is heavily indebted to the work and commitment to research and clinical excellence of the OMC. Having connection between the research and expertise of the OMC and clinical mental health services feels so valuable.
