This 1-day workshop is for you if you’re a fully trained mindfulness teacher who’s completed a 12-month, structured face-to-face or live online training programme and would like to train to teach the 3-session Introducing Mindfulness (IM) course, its associated practices and bring clearly structured, shorter sessions into your mindfulness teaching. The course particularly suits those working within workplace, educational, corporate or community contexts.
If you haven’t trained as a mindfulness teacher, you may be interested in our 10-day teacher training to deliver this course or our 12-Month Teacher Training programme.
As an addition to the MBCT family of courses, Introducing Mindfulness (IM) offers a brief taste of mindfulness practice and theory to people who are new to mindfulness, in an accessible way. It can be offered as a formal programme of 3 x 1-hour sessions, or as drop-ins, taster and introductory sessions.
You’re not required to have attended a 3-session Introducing Mindfulness (IM) course before attending this workshop. The content of the training has been revised to accommodate this 2025 change to our entry criteria.
Please note – you don’t need to complete this workshop if you’re currently on our 12-Month Teacher Training programme.
We provide ‘Certificate of Attendance’ letters to all participants who attend and who take part in all aspects of the training, including break out rooms, with their camera on.
On this training you will:
- Learn about the background and rationale for the IM curriculum
- Understand the structure and sequence of this curriculum
- Practise teaching the key practices and exercises that are part of this curriculum
- Explore considerations for delivering this curriculum in a variety of settings
- Reflect on similarities and differences between this curriculum and other mindfulness-based courses.
Curriculum materials and handouts for teaching the course are provided.
Please note: This curriculum is intended to be delivered to adults over 18 years of age and is not applicable to children.
What to expect on this course
We’ll explore the key intentions, structure and outline of the Introducing Mindfulness (IM) course.
There’ll be discussions about where the IM course sits within the scope of broader mindfulness teaching – the similarities, differences, and any special considerations needed when offering shorter sessions to work colleagues, or other communities within which you intend to offer the course.
