About the course

“It changed me in just about every way possible, but what can I do next?“

⬆️ This question isn’t untypical of what people say following a mindfulness course. People often ask: “What happens next?” or “How can I keep up my practice?” And many people who’ve graduated from an 8-week course want to continue what they’ve started.

Our practice tends to ebb and flow and some people discontinue their practice altogether. This course is intended to help you overcome blocks to continuing practise, identify positive reasons to practice, and reinforce what you’ve already learned, further supporting your mental health and well-being.

Especially created for people who’ve previously completed an 8-week mindfulness course such as Mindfulness for Life, MBCT or Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and who’d like to take their practice further, this 12-session course aims to:

  • Reinforce and deepen your mindfulness practice
  • Deepen and broaden the learning of the key themes from the 8-week course curriculum
  • Support you in applying all that is learned to your daily life, in ways that are aligned with your values
  • Provide a shared community of practice
  • Develop your capacity and confidence to deepen and extend learning independently

It comprises 12 themes including ‘Attention’, ‘Inhabiting our bodies’, ‘Appreciating the life you have’, ‘How can I best take care of myself and others?’, ‘Cool head, warm heart’, ‘The art of balance and equanimity’ and ‘Being the change you’d like to see in the world’.

New practices are introduced (for example to calm agitation, to help with sleep or prepare for a challenging situation) and the place of informal, everyday practice is emphasised and introduced in a way that fits in with the things you’re already doing in your daily life and supports you to do them with increased awareness.

We’re committed to supporting you to live with greater wisdom, balance and responsiveness in the myriad different moments of your real, daily life – this course offers you that guidance and support.

What to expect on this course

It’s a structured course where each session builds upon what’s been introduced before which is why it’s important to attend all the sessions, if possible.

There are 12 sessions lasting 2 hours and 15 minutes.

You’ll be in a group of up to 16 people, led by one of our experienced mindfulness teachers. Each session has guided mindfulness practices and cognitive exercises.

Each practice or exercise is followed by a review of what you and/or other participants experienced or discovered in that practice/exercise.

Each session is followed by suggestions for personal practice of up to 45 minutes per day. This includes both recommended guided practices, and also ways to develop new habits of mindfulness in everyday life.

You’ll have access to guided practices and written materials to support each session.
