Professor Willem Kuyken

Professor Willem Kuyken is a researcher, teacher and author. He is the Ritblat Professor of Mindfulness and Psychological Science at the University of Oxford, where he has pioneered cognitive and mindfulness-based therapies to treat and prevent depression.

Willem’s ‘Mindfulness for Life’ approach, which draws on ancient wisdom and modern psychology, is a key strand in the DNA of the mindfulness courses we deliver.

Mindfulness for Life

At Oxford Mindfulness, our vision is a world with universal access to mindfulness training and a shared understanding of the positive impact of living mindfully, including greater well-being for ourselves and our communities.

We understand that mindfulness is an approach which many people feel isn’t relevant to them or is too difficult to sustain in their busy lives, meaning our work is continuously evolving to find ways to make mindfulness more accessible and relevant to our everyday lives.

We’re delighted to be collaborating with Willem to offer a series of events as he launches his new book ‘Mindfulness for Life’.

The book lays out our shared approach to mindfulness in 12 chapters, each including case studies and advice to make living mindfully a more sustainable practice in your daily life, as well as practical mindfulness exercises.

“Attention is one of your most important resources. What you focus on shapes what you think, your decisions, what you feel, and ultimately your reality.”
