I am a psychologist by background and after 15 years of working to support clients within substance misuse and domestic abuse sectors I have trained to become a fully qualified Mindfulness Teacher and completed my Masters in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy at the University of Oxford (MSt in MBCT). In my approach I offer evidence-based psychological interventions to deliver a variety of mindfulness courses including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness for Life (MBCT-L), Finding Peace in a Frantic World (FPFW) as well as the entry level Introducing Mindfulness and a follow-on course Deeper Mindfulness: Exploring Feeling Tone Frame by Frame. I work in a trauma-sensitive way which offers a supportive approach to engage with mindfulness practices and teach to acknowledge experienced difficulties without becoming overwhelmed. I love learning about how Eastern and Western schools of thought compliment each other as well as provide practical tools to increase wellbeing and have a keen interest in addressing trauma and introducing change by making sustainable connections between the mind and the body.
