I have 25 years of service in NHS patient-facing roles. I left the NHS after developing a disabling condition (primary axial dystonia). I discovered MBCT when it was offered to me in 2017 as part of my ongoing management for incurable conditions. The 8-week course I did was transformative and it has changed my life for the better. I now seek to share the healing power of MBCT to the general public in private practice and also within the workplace. In the post-pandemic world there is so much suffering out there – as people do their best to struggle on in the jobs and in their home life. Stress, burnout, low mood, anxiety and developing a more healthy work-life balance have all been shown in studies to be benefits of MBCT. The mindfulness-based approaches I teach are based on ancient wisdom and their efficacy is well supported by modern neuroscience.
