About me

I teach the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation’s Introduction to Mindfulness, MBCT-L and Finding Peace in a Frantic World. I hold a P. G. Diploma in Mindfulness Studies from Aberdeen University and am trained to “Advanced Level” in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness with Dr David Treleavan. I also deliver the Mindfulness Association’s MBLC, CBLC and MBLC- YA programmes and am BAMBA registered. I have been teaching mindfulness since 2019. Compassion-based mindfulness and meditation have proved essential to me in coming to terms with moments of dramatic change in my life. I care deeply about sharing what I have learned with others who may benefit from such training, while navigating their way through periods of exceptional change in their own lives. I was introduced to mindfulness in the 1980s, at Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery in the Scottish Borders. Recovering from a serious eating disorder rooted in childhood trauma, I lived there for 5 years, studying and practising daily with many renowned Tibetan teachers, the legacy of which inspired and motivated me to teach mindfulness to others later in life. There followed nearly 20 years as a Senior BBC Radio Producer; my focus on educational and social action programming, supporting people in life-challenging situations and involving international travel on a regular basis. I later combined this rich experience with running an upland livestock farm in partnership with my husband. Working constantly with the tempestuous forces of nature, coupled with all the highs and lows of tending over a thousand much-loved animals, proved a remarkably profound experience; an experience inseparable from my aspiration to live mindfully. I now live in the Scottish Borders, delivering courses and one-to-one mindfulness training, both online and in person, fitting this in between daily dog walking – mindful of the inexhaustible needs of my delightful spaniel Geordie!
