About me

Pauline is currently working at a medical school in Hong Kong, where she provides medical humanities education to medical students. She was awarded the Trained Teacher Certificate in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) by the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation. In her daily work, Pauline conducts regular introductory mindfulness workshops for medical and healthcare students, aiming to cultivate presence and self-awareness in the context of patient care and personal well-being. She began studying mindfulness in Singapore in 2014 and has completed various training programs, including MBCT and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). After completing her teacher training in MBCT, she has been delivering 8-week courses to diverse populations across different settings—such as medical students, nurses, social workers, and administrators—in higher education, healthcare, NGOs, and community contexts. In addition to her expertise in MBCT, Pauline is a certified facilitator of Flourishing in Medicine (Mindful Practice in Medicine©), developed by the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry for healthcare professionals. She is also a 200-hour certified mindful yoga instructor, a Singing Bowl Therapist, and has completed Level 1 of MBSR Teacher Training. Pauline supports the teaching of mindful movement as part of the Jockey Club Movin’ CARE for Parkinson’s Disease Project—a territory-wide initiative grounded in a 3C model: Community-based, Compassion-focused, and Complementary mind–body care integrated with existing healthcare services. She actively promotes well-being and integrates mindfulness into her medical education and community initiatives. Pauline advocates for evidence-based mindfulness practices that enhance resilience, reduce stress, foster empathy, and support holistic care for healthcare professionals and students. Additionally, she volunteers as an online counselor on a 24/7 platform supporting the emotional needs of young people. This experience has enriched her understanding of applying mindfulness in various modalities, including practicing mindfulness in virtual spaces.
