About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist and Certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Portugal, with over 20 years of clinical experience in adult mental health. My work integrates evidence-based psychological therapies, with particular interests in anxiety, depression, stress, sleep, and the application of mindfulness-based interventions in healthcare. I began practising mindfulness in 2005 during my certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. As mindfulness-based approaches became increasingly integrated into third-wave CBT, mindfulness developed from a component of my professional training into a lifelong personal practice and an essential part of my clinical work. In 2018, I achieved Qualified Teacher status in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Since then, I have taught MBSR programmes in healthcare settings while continuing my professional development as an MBSR teacher. In 2026, I completed the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation’s 12-month Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Teacher Training pathway and received the MBCT Trained Teacher Certificate. I am also a CBT Supervisor accredited by the Portuguese Association for Behaviour Therapy (APTC), recognised by the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT). I value integrating the scientific foundations of CBT with the experiential and compassionate qualities of mindfulness, supporting participants in developing greater awareness, resilience, and psychological well-being.
