Sierra Domb is a Cuban-American activist, research collaborator, and Founder of the nonprofit Visual Snow Initiative, which has advanced awareness and research on Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS). She has served on the International Advisory Board for the Columbia-WHO Center for Global Mental Health, delivered a TEDx talk, and was recognized as a 2024 UMiami 30 Under 30 Award winner for her humanitarian work and global activism focused on VSS. Sierra’s expertise spans health communication, behavioral science, neuroscience, and qualitative data analysis, with a focus on marginalized medical conditions like VSS. She examines the debilitating symptoms that impact both physical and mental health, as well as the limited resources and understanding surrounding these conditions. She has worked to foster collaboration between medical professionals, researchers, and institutions, develop innovative resources and solutions with experts, and make complex medical concepts more accessible to individuals of all ages and varying levels of health literacy.
