About me

I’m Chiung-Yueh (April) Fan, a board-certified addiction psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience, and a certified mindfulness teacher based in Taiwan.
For much of my career, I worked with individuals experiencing severe mental health crises. Witnessing first-hand how devastating untreated mental health challenges can become led me to a pivotal question: How can we learn to notice, nourish, and support ourselves earlier – before distress grows into crisis?

Mindfulness emerged as a powerful answer – grounded in neuroscience, evidence-based, and genuinely transformative. I have integrated mindfulness into my own life and clinical work and have seen its profound impact on both myself and others.

As a mother of two, I have come to appreciate how mindfulness meets us in real life – at the intersection of stress, family, and daily responsibilities. Its effects often extend far beyond the meditation cushion, shaping how we relate to our children, loved ones, our work, and ourselves. This is why I am deeply committed to making these evidence-based practices accessible to anyone seeking greater resilience and well-being.

I offer mindfulness programs in both Mandarin Chinese and English, creating a welcoming space for international professionals, bilingual families, and heritage language learners to engage with mindfulness in the language that feels most authentic to them. Together, we gently explore how mindfulness can be woven into everyday experiences, including work demands, parenting challenges, emotional ups and downs, and our shared wish for greater inner peace.
