I have been a psychiatric nurse for more than 40 years and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2006. My sub-specialty was in addictions recovery, and I have a special interest in twelve-step recovery programs. I retired in 2020 and my “encore career” is teaching mindfulness. I was introduced to meditation and yoga as a teenager and I’ve followed the research into mindfulness and health throughout my career. In my personal life mindfulness has been a part of my own healing and growth over the years. I identify as a protestant Christian with a high regard for Buddhism, a social liberal and political progressive, and as a white cis-gender hetero old man. I am open to working with persons of any intersectionality. I live in the U.S.A in New York State’s north country and I am available to teach live in-person regionally and online using zoom anywhere. I’m a Qualified Level 1 Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher and I also teach Introducing Mindfulness. I will schedule classes for your small group (family and friends, colleagues, social organization, etc.) or you may join me for an open-enrolment on-line class. You can contact me by email or through my website InviteMindfulness.com.
