As a mindfulness teacher, you’ll know the familiar question that often arises at the end of an 8-week course: “What next?” or “How can I keep up my practice?”
The Taking it Further (TiF) course was created to answer these questions. Designed for those who’ve completed an 8-week Mindfulness for Life (MBCT-L) or Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course, TiF supports ongoing practice and deepens understanding – helping participants continue their journey of lifelong learning.
TiF starts from the premise that all themes within mindfulness-based courses aren’t one-time lessons, but lifelong explorations. Each theme offers fresh perspectives and practical relevance across the changing landscape of life. Backed by the first major randomised controlled trial, TiF has been shown to support increased well-being and flourishing.
Participants begin by reflecting on what it means to truly wake up – to intentionally give attention, energy and time to what brings joy, meaning and purpose. Over time, they build confidence to meet difficulty with kindness, savour joy with appreciation, align choices with their deepest values, and act with courage and authenticity.
The course introduces a fourth key of mindfulness – action – alongside awareness, befriending and intention. Together, these aren’t just skills, but ways of being that support people to live the life they aspire to.
TiF includes familiar practices from the original MBCT programme, alongside new practices and exercises that help participants navigate difficulty and cultivate well-being. It’s a rich, experiential course that invites deeper engagement with mindfulness in everyday life.
Please note: If you’ve previously trained to teach the Taking it Further course, but would like to be trained to teach the updated version of the course, you need only attend days 1 and 4 (February 6 & 27). Please make sure you select this option when applying.
