Authoritative, beautifully written and much-loved by its readers, Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World has become a word-of-mouth bestseller and global phenomenon. The meditation course contained within the book has formed the basis for thousands of mindfulness courses around the UK, been used in numerous research trials, and been adapted for use in healthcare systems, institutions and businesses worldwide.
Professor Mark Williams and Dr Danny Penman will join us to celebrate the launch of a refreshed edition of their book and to mark 15-years since first publication. Mark and Danny will tell us why they think mindfulness is effective for treating mental and physical ill-health and discuss why the practice of mindfulness has suddenly became a mainstream phenomenon. They will also discuss how mindfulness can help us navigate troubling times with a sense of hope, anticipation and even vigour.
The evening will be hosted by Claire Kelly, Director of Teaching and Training at Oxford Mindfulness and the authors will also answer questions from the audience.
